Visit of a visiting professor
Yesterday our students had an amazing opportunity to attend a lecture by Margaret Booth Pierce, a Fulbright specialist in the field of medical and cultural geography, and a child advocate. The professor held a lecture on the sociolinguistic factors affecting the introduction of new words in the English language, with a focus on terms arising on the social periphery, namely slang, in contemporary contexts.
We were glad to see all the students actively participating and enjoying the lecture, and we would like to thank our guest lecturer for visiting us.
