IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE "EMPOWERING YOUNG WOMEN - MEDIA LITERACY" PROJECT, THE PARTICIPANTS VISIT THE FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY

As part of the Media Literacy module of the "Empowerment of Young Women" project, the Youth Association ReAktiv Zenica, together with representatives of the American Corner in Zenica, visited the Faculty of Philosophy and the study program Cultural Studies. The reason for the visit is the already successfully established cooperation between Cultural Studies, a university program of an interdisciplinary character that also includes a significant number of teaching subjects in the field of communication and media, with the association ReAktiv and other non-governmental organizations in Zenica. The meeting also agreed on future cooperation and preparation of joint projects in the field of media, media literacy, communication, public speaking and journalism.

The ReAktiv Youth Association program is intended for young women from the Zenica-Doboj and Central Bosnia cantons, aged 18 to 30, who want to acquire new skills through one of the three mentoring modules: management and rule of law, media and media literacy, and public health. and improve previously acquired knowledge and skills so that after completing formal education they are better prepared for economic independence, and certainly for training and advancement in the dynamic environment of the labor market. A significant number of participants in this program are current and former students of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica.

This collaboration represents another successful example of the integration of teaching and research processes in the study programs of the Faculty of Philosophy with activities and initiatives originating from the local community.
