Results of the competition for the best mathematical comic within STUFEK 2025

The Mathematics and Informatics study program of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica, as part of the Student Culture Festival STUFEK 2025, organized a competition for the creation of a mathematical comic on the topic "Life and work of famous mathematicians".

The goal of the competition was to encourage students to creatively and educationally present the lives and contributions of famous mathematicians through the form of comics, while promoting mathematics in a positive and inspiring way.

As part of the preparations for the competition, students had the opportunity to participate in a workshop on making comics in the Canva tool, led by assistant Edina Kadrić Durmiš.

Students of the Faculty of Philosophy from the study programs: Mathematics and Informatics, Cultural Studies, Classroom Teaching and English Language and Literature took part in the competition.

The award ceremony and certificates were held on May 15, 2025 at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica.

The winners of the competition were announced:

🏆 The best comic according to the decision of the expert jury:
"Life and work of Sofia Kovalevska"
✍️ Author: Ejub Alajbegović

🌟 Best comic as voted by the audience:
"Gauss, the little genius"
✍️ Author: Nedžad Džaja

All participants in the competition received certificates of participation and special gifts, while the winners were additionally awarded for their contribution and creativity.

We would like to thank all participants for their hard work and originality, and the audience for their active participation in voting. Once again, it has been shown that mathematics can be an inspiration for art, storytelling and education.
