Marked the 25th year of work of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica

The 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica was celebrated today in the premises of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica, in the presence of representatives of the Government of Zenica - Doboj Canton, representatives of the University of Zenica, employees and numerous guests, the 25th anniversary of the work of this higher education institution was solemnly celebrated.

The decision to establish the Pedagogical Academy in Zenica was made by the Presidency of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 10, 1994. In the following eight years, the Pedagogical Academy in Zenica facilitated the education of the necessary teaching staff in Zenica, Zenica-Doboj canton, but also in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the establishment of the University of Zenica in 2000, the Pedagogical Academy became a member of the University.

In 2002, the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton passed the Decision on granting approval for the transformation of a two-year to a four-year study of classroom teaching and changing the name to the Faculty of Education, and in 2013, also by the decision of the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the faculty changed its name to the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Pupils.

At the Faculty of Philosophy, classes are currently held in a total of seven departments for two study cycles.

A special place in the work of this faculty is occupied by successful students in all fields. It is important to highlight several activities: the organization of debates, panel discussions, art workshops, poetry evenings, exhibitions, publication of magazines and filming of a film in German.

"The Faculty of Philosophy has not reached its maximum level of work and activity, and we have a lot of work ahead of us in order to fully fulfill that mission, and some steps towards achieving that goal have already been taken," pointed out Prof. Dr.Sc. Memnuna Hasanica, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy.

"I am very glad that I participated in the development process of the Faculty of Philosophy from the earliest days. I was a participant in the preparation of the Elaborate on the transformation of the Faculty of Pedagogy into the Faculty of Philosophy and the Elaborate on the establishment of the department for cultural studies. I am glad to have been a part of this team for a number of years, and I certainly congratulate the Faculty of Philosophy on its anniversary and wish them to continue their development", said Prof. Ph.D. Spahije Kozlić, Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Zenica - Doboj Canton.
