STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY PERFORMED IN THE FIRST FRIENDLY RUGBY MATCH OF THE BIH WOMEN'S TEAM

A year ago, the Rugby Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina began a project to revitalize women's rugby through cooperation with universities across the country. The first university section was established at the University of Zenica, in the Physical Education and Sports study program of the Faculty of Philosophy.
As a result of this project, on October 4, 2025, the first friendly match between the BiH Rugby Federation and the Partizan Rugby Club from Belgrade was held at the FK Partizan stadium. Two matches were played in the popular Olympic discipline of rugby 7s.
The special importance of this sporting event is made by the fact that most of the players of the national team are students of the University of Zenica - from the study program of Physical Education and Sport and other study programs of the Faculty of Philosophy, but also from the Faculty of Medicine, Polytechnic, and the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
This success represents a significant step forward in the development of student sports and the affirmation of women's rugby in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project shows that universities can be drivers of new sports initiatives and spaces for the promotion of equality in sports.
We believe that an increasing number of female students will join this dynamic and team sport.
The students from the University of Zenica who performed were: Hana Fetić, Džejna Sivac, Hatidža Smriko, Nermana Rizvić, Sunita Pašanbegović, Erna Huseinović, Dalija Subasic, Adna Trebo, Tajra Novaković, Sara Hadžić, Fatima Smriko and Mihaela Jurić.
We congratulate our students on a great game and presentation of the Faculty of Philosophy and the University of Zenica!
