Research stay at the University of Mannheim, Federal Republic of Germany

Amira Avdić, senior assistant at the Department of German Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica, spent a month, from August 29 to September 29, 2025, on a research stay at the University of Mannheim as part of her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. This research stay, which followed a two-month research stay in Heidelberg in 2024, was made possible thanks to a DAAD scholarship from the GIP program (Germanistische Institutparterschaft).

During her stay, senior assistant Amira Avdić worked intensively on collecting additional professional literature for the preparation of her doctoral dissertation. In addition to her research work, she actively participated in a series of professional lectures and seminars. She particularly highlights the seminars of Dr. Johannes Franzen on the topic "To Whom Does Literature Belong? Authorship, Ownership of the Work, Copyright and Artificial Intelligence", Prof. Dr. Christoph Weiß on genre literature and film, Dr. Joachim Franz on the role of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing in the cultural life of Mannheim, and the lectures of Prof. Dr. Ulrich Kittstein "Introduction to the Science of Literature", which covered fundamental issues of literature, poetics, literary genres, and the lectures of Dr. Irmtraud Hnilica on the topic "Dreams of Dwelling: The Literature of Dwelling from Realism to the Present".

The acquired experience and the latest scientific findings will primarily contribute to further improving the quality of teaching in the Study Program for German Language and Literature, and provide a strong incentive for further scientific research and professional development.
