The national holiday Republic Day is celebrated on October 29 to commemorate the proclamation and establishment of the modern Republic of Turkey. Namely, on October 29, 1923, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk canceled the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, and the Grand National Assembly elected Mustafa Kemal Ataturk as the first president of the Republic. The national holiday of the Republic of Turkey Day is celebrated with a series of events across the country, including the laying of a wreath at Anitkabir, the mausoleum of the founder of the Republic of Turkey. On behalf of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica, we send sincere congratulations to all citizens of the Republic of Turkey on the occasion of the 98th birthday of the Republic of Turkey.
