The Faculty of Philosophy participated in the first promotional run of the Sarajevo-Vareš tourist train

The staff of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica, led by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Alica Arnaut, participated in the first promotional ride on a tourist train between Sarajevo and Vareš. This interesting tourist project brought together tourism workers, representatives of cultural and public life, and guests from the academic community. The project is a joint initiative of the FBiH Railways, the Municipality of Vareš and the Tourist Board of the Zenica-Doboj Canton with the aim of promoting the cultural, historical and natural wealth of the region.

The journey by old diesel locomotive with Swedish wagons took us through the valley of the Stavnja River, through 18 tunnels and over 11 bridges. In the city of Vareš, a visit to an exhibition of handicrafts of local associations was organized.

The excursion was enriched with a visit to the Wigwam picnic area in the village of Zaruđe, where a cultural and artistic program was organized with a performance by the Vareš tamburitza players and the BZK choir "Preporod".

In addition to Dean Arnaut, representatives of the Department of Culture and Tourism also participated in the tourist drive.

The participation of the Faculty of Philosophy in this event is a continuation of the cooperation that began with the signing of an agreement with the Tourist Board of the ZDK.
