Excellent success of a student of the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Mathematics and Informatics

From November 22, 2019 to November 25, 2019, the 8th International Chess Tournament "Lukavac 2019" was held in Lukavac, Hotel "Lukavac". 88 players from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Denmark, Turkey and Macedonia participated in the tournament. Among the 88 players there was 1 international master and 7 fide masters.

The Swiss system of 7 rounds was played. The tempo of the game is 90 minutes + 30 seconds for each move played. The tournament will be rated according to the standard rating list. A notable result was achieved by Dino Marković, a student from the 1st year of the Faculty of Philosophy, majoring in mathematics and informatics. According to the rating, Dino was the 15th seed in the tournament according to the rating, and from 7 games he collected 5.5 points (5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss) and was in the division from 3rd to 6th place. Due to additional criteria, Dino took 6th place.

In addition to the excellent place taken, it should be noted that Dino won the 1st place in the special group of players up to 2150 rating. After this tournament, Dino improved his rating by 17 points and from 1.12.2019. Dini will be rated 2136 and well on her way to the title of fide master (get to 2300 rating or higher). By the way, Dina's only defeat in the tournament was against the winner of the tournament, Buljubasic Sabahudin - fide master.

The director of the tournament was Mr. Mahir Selimović, and the judges of the tournament were: Šefko Hamzić and Hamdija Pilavdžić. From Zenica, in addition to Dina, the following participated in the tournament: international master Goran Trkulja, Nermin Šestić, Halid Bajramović and Hajrudin Kustura.
