EIGHT-YEAR PROJECT T1 UNIVERSITY RUGBY PROMOTED

The Faculty of Philosophy, in cooperation with the Rugby Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized a working meeting of representatives of faculties and study programs of physical education and sports from public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina on December 18, 2024. At the meeting, an eight-year development program was presented that should result in the formation of clubs and the participation of the women's BiH rugby team in a major rugby 7s competition, while the ultimate goal is the appearance of the women's national team at the Olympic Games in 2032. The first steps include the formation of women's rugby sections at all partner universities, whose work will be encouraged by the Rugby Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to train professional staff, and to popularize rugby among the student population. Also, women's rugby will promote the empowerment of women through sports and in general.
