"Culture of memory and gender: gender-based violence in war and the continuation of misogynistic projects in the post-war period in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region"

Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica and TPO Foundation, as part of the campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence" are organizing a conference:
"Culture of memory and gender: gender-based violence in war and the continuation of misogynistic projects in the post-war period in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region"
Datum: December 2 and 3, 2024 (Monday and Tuesday)
Venue: Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica
Conference topics:
Gender-based violence in war;
– the question of the causes of mass rapes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the former Yugoslavia;
– stigmatization of victims of sexual war violence, both raped women and raped men; a conspiracy of silence, especially when it comes to rape and sexual torture of men;
– war rape and pornography;
- children of war - children born from the act of rape and their social invisibility;
Irresponsibility towards the victims of war violence: the state's irresponsibility towards the memorialization of women's rooms, houses, hotels and other facilities where mass rapes and other forms of torture of victims were committed; social irresponsibility and lack of empathy towards victims of war and post-war violence;
- Everyday misogyny: (social networks i) language of hatred towards victims of all forms of abuse;
- The post-war "epidemic" of femicide; What implications do unpunished war crimes against women have in post-war societies?
- Culture of remembrance and the fight against misogynistic patterns; deconstruction of war and post-war violence;
