PARTICIPATION IN THE "MATTRESS" WORKSHOP

On Friday, February 21st, in the premises of the Secondary School "Mladost" in Zenica, an education was held on the topic "Smart systems shape the future" as part of the first activities in the technology category at the "Matrakčija" Workshops on Thinking, Science and Technology. This training for educators was also attended by our assistants Irma Hasanica-Pašalić (SP TJK) and Larisa Mahmic-Kobilica, MA (SP BHSJK).
The “Matrakçija” workshops, which provide technology, science, thinking and skill development workshops for Bosnian children and youth, were established with the support of the National Ministry of Education of the Republic of Turkey – Istanbul Provincial Directorate of the National Ministry of Education. They were established with the aim of contributing to raising awareness of extracurricular educational activities in primary and secondary schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina. These workshops offer education in various thematic categories, including thinking, science and technology. The workshop content can be created by academics, teachers, professionals from various fields, as well as postgraduates and doctoral students. In creating and developing the workshop content, priority is given to training that includes the application of intellectual, cognitive and scientific principles. For the training of educators who will lead the workshops, the necessary planning is carried out in cooperation with local partners, and under the auspices of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of the National Ministry of Education and the Istanbul Teachers Academy.
During the one-day training, participants were introduced to basics of 3D modeling and printing through work on the platform Tinkercad, and they could further unleash their creativity by making their own 3D models of various smiley faces. Then they are using Arduino IDE program and corresponding Arduino project set, learned about the connection between hardware and software, and how this connection can be applied in teaching to specific tasks. For ideas when coming up with tasks, they used a specially prepared Matrakčija AI Chat GPT, which trained them in the proper use of artificial intelligence, and they learned the following formula: artificial intelligence = data. After all, they are using the program PictoBlox, saw how artificial intelligence recognizes faces and how it can be used in the teaching process. The goal of the education on the topic "Smart Systems Shape the Future" was to learn how all of the above technologies can be applied in education and creative work, while spreading knowledge and applications of modern technologies in education.
After successfully completing the training, our assistants received certificates confirming their participation in the same (Educator Training Program).
