The campaign to collect humanitarian aid for Turkey has ended

Today at 3:00 p.m., the campaign to collect humanitarian aid ended, which, with the support of the rector of the University of Zenica, prof. Ph.D. Jusuf Duraković, organized by students and staff of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica.

The aforementioned action was realized in the period from February 9 to 16, 2023, and collected 23 tons of humanitarian aid, which was transported in three phases. The first humanitarian aid trucks left Zenica already on Monday, February 13, 2023, while the second aid contingent was sent on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. The aid collected in the previous two days will be shipped on Monday, thus ending this humanitarian mission.

We would like to thank the citizens of Zenica and the Zenica-Doboj Canton who showed humanity and empathy in this difficult and turbulent time. The amount of aid collected exceeded all expectations and we have to admit that we made superhuman efforts to successfully bring the action to an end. We are especially proud of the fact that during the duration of the action, all activities in our department were realized in the stipulated time. Students and professors packed and stacked boxes in the first shift, while in the second shift they performed their student and professor duties in the classroom.

We would like to thank everyone who provided us with help and support in the implementation of the action, namely, first of all, the University of Zenica, the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Law, the Rectorate of the University of Zenica, the "Kemal Kapetanović" Institute, the student associations of the University of Zenica and KUD "Mošćanica". We would also like to thank the business entities that provided us with material support in the realization of the action, namely: Pero, Alba, Tropik, Planika, Best, Domod and a large number of those who wished to remain anonymous.
