  • INTRODUCTION
2.1. Reasons for starting the study Since our social community is entering the contemporary European trends of life and work, business and social activity, it is necessary to make significant changes in the way of educating new staff with more flexible forms of study both for teaching invitations and other types of social activity - which means that the opening of the mentioned department will open opportunities to study and obtain the title of professor of Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian language and literature, who will be able to respond to the various demands and needs of society: to be teachers in primary and secondary schools, to be able to do professional and responsible jobs in media and publishing houses, cultural and pedagogical institutions, state bodies - to nurture and develop the beauty of the written and spoken word. Since the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica has a first cycle of studies in language and literature, it is logical that students are given the opportunity to continue their studies in the second cycle.

2.3. Compliance with the mission and strategy of the OJ/University The study of language and literature is a fundamental study at every university that develops humanistic, pedagogical-psychological and educational scientific and professional disciplines. This study represents the cultural and social identity and integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, it is in the interest of the University to have within its organizational units the study of Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian languages and literature.
2.4. Comparability of the study program with the programs of other higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond The study program is coordinated with program studies of the same type at universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina

3. GENERAL PART
3.1. Scientific/artistic area of the study program B/H/S language and literature
3.2. Duration of the study program (is there a possibility of distance learning, part-time study, etc.) 1 year
3.3. The minimum number of ECTS points required to complete the studies 60 ECTS credits
3.4. Requirements for study enrollment The master's degree in B/H/S language and literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica can be enrolled by candidates who have completed the B/H/S language and literature study at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica, i.e. at another faculty in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and candidates who have completed an undergraduate the study of other related humanistic and social professions with a minimum of 40 ECTS points from the grammar subjects of the B/H/S language, with the passing of additional exams in the subjects of the undergraduate study of the B/H/S language and literature, which will be determined by the Teaching and Research Council of the Faculty, and collect the required number of ECTS points from the main and compulsory subjects. Also, a candidate who has the recommendation of 2 teachers from the narrower field of undergraduate studies who will give a positive assessment of the candidate's ability to continue his studies can enroll in the master's program. With knowledge of another foreign language (English, French, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic, Italian, etc.).
3.5. Learning outcomes Students expand and further develop

  • develop skills in applying an intercultural approach in the interpretation of literary works
  • the ability to use learning strategies and to teach language knowledge and skills

  • expand knowledge in literary scientific terminology and methodology
  • the ability to plan, perform and critically reflect on the process of learning and teaching B/H/S language and literature

  • the ability to critically observe and valorize literary texts, but also linguistic structures
3.6. Possibility of employment (list of possible employers) and the opinion of organizations related to the labor market on the adequacy of the expected learning outcomes (attach) Based on the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities, students will be able to get a job in primary and secondary schools as teachers of B/H/S language and literature, in publishing and library fields (bookselling), in media and cultural institutions, in business offices and public or government services where high communicative competence is required.
3.7. Possibility of continuing studies The possibility of continuing studies in the third cycle – doctoral studies
3.8. Undergraduate study from which it is possible to enroll in the proposed study Completed undergraduate study in B/H/S language and literature (professor's degree in B/H/S language and literature after a four-year study), 240 ECTS points or completed another related four-year undergraduate study with a minimum of 40 ECTS points in grammar subjects B/H /S language, and, in both cases, the average grade of undergraduate studies is at least 8.

The number of students in lectures and exercises depends on the number of enrolled students. The number of students at the exercises is made according to the optimal teaching group of students for exercises and work in the seminar (Art. 12.
